wave Hi to all new members,

Most Frequently asked question by new members at Smith Chat is....

Where do I post my first Topic or message?
In Social Club or on the Smith & Related Family History Boards?

If you are posting your Family History Interests, please will you post them on the Board for the British Isles area of your interests?

>>Forum : Around the British Isles : Genealogy/Local History>>
There are separate "Smith & Related" Boards for......
* East & South-East Lancashire Districts
* Liverpool and South-West Lancashire Districts
* Lancashire - All Other Districts
* Yorkshire West Riding
* Isle of Man
* All other England, Wales, Scotland Counties (incl. those where British area of roots is unknown)
* Ireland (incl Northern Ireland and Eire)

If your ancestors or relatives emigrated from the British Isles - you might also like to post some information about their migration on "Brits to Other Continents" Boards on the
>>"Around the World" Forum>>

If you don't want to post your Family History interests immediately, that's OK - & in that case it would be great if you would like to just introduce yourself in >>Social Club>>, top board - Coffee-Break Chit-Chat is a nice friendly place to start!! Great Stuff!!

If you could do that - it would be a great help & keep the Genealogy Boards on Topic & other Chit-Chat in the Social Club.

Thank you for your interest & participation. Its always great to see new members ck-smile

This FAQ has been updated today, following a minor change to arrangement of the Social Club sub-Boards. wave

Hi James and welcome to Smith chat! I am sure we shall be able to come up with some ideas for you. Have you tried the UK census collection at all? Or the births, marriages and deaths databases? Keep in touch and talk again soon.
