FAQs: Forgotten Username or Password or having other Log-in Problems?

Forgotten Password? -To re-set it:
Go to the Log-in page - enter your Username.
Underneath the "log-in" button, click on I've forgotten my password

You'll then be asked to confirm your email address.
You'll then receive a new password by email and instructions
about how to reset it.

To find your Username - try this first....

Are you a Member of the "Smith Project" Usergroup?
(your username displays in red)
If so - go to the Usergroup List >> Smith Project Lan-WRY-IoM >>
You'll probably recognise your own Username.
Your Forums Username should also be displayed in the Smith List Site's
Members A-Z - along the same column as your name and Project ID....
here >> Smith Project Members' A-Z List & Index >>

Are you a Member of the "Smith-Other UK & Ireland" Usergroup?
(your username displays in green)
If so - see if you recognise it on the Usergroup List
>> Smith - Other UK & Ireland >>

Otherwise - check the full >> Smith Chat Forums Memberlist >>

If you don't recognise your Forums Username from any of the above lists, please then see >> Reporting by Email - Technical Matters >> and send me the email address with which you registered at Smith Chat.

Why you should not re-register with a new Username?

This shouldn't ever happen if you are using your correct Username and password, but should you find you are having difficulty logging in to the site, please contact me.

and send me the email address with which you registered at Smith Chat.

Please don't re-register with a different Username, as this causes confusion for other members. Especially important if you're a member of one or more of these Usergroups.......

Smith Project Lan-WRY-IoM
Smith - Other UK & Ireland,
Special Permissions

Please make every effort to find and use your original Username - because..........

If you re-register under a new Username......
Tracking of your posting history, status record, Usergroup Memberships and therefore your Special Permissions will all be lost.
