Did you know that WH Smith book sellers and newsagents was started by Henry Walton Smith and his wife Anna back in 1792 in London as a news vendor.

Their sons William Henry Smith and Henry Edward Smith took the business and William Henry proved to be the better businessman and took the firm over. To read more go to the WH Smith PLC website.
