When a whale cries.

Subject: When a whale cries. Fri 13 Apr 2007 - 23:10

I don't know why I wrote this one. Maybe something I read. Tell me when you have had enough. I was thrown out of the harpoon throwers bar for this one. Though a few hardened men cried and brought me out a beer for my trouble.

Dawning sun, another day.
Ship cuts through water.
Harbour leaving underway.

Searching the sea.
For the blow to the sky.
Whalers earn money
And whales must die.

When I dream I hear the sound each night.
It cuts you to the deep.
When they're caught, yes I've seen grown men cry.
At the sound of a dying whale weep.

The mother is killed maybe by mistake.
Her young still inside but escape for her mate.
The male swims in circles hear the sounds of his cry.
Now here all alone, hear him pine, hear him die.

To love another so much and a bond run so deep.
Not seperated in death hear the love in his weep.

That is so sad Daz, I just sent Carole and email on the dolphin slaughter in Japan, you must get her to send it to you, its horrific and this poem reminded me of it.
