Saudi Shuffle.

This was written again in Jeddah. Derek who I worked with had his wife and 2 young sons come out for a vacation. I wrote this and one night we rapped it round the pool. There is still a copy on tape in a bar somewhere in Cyprus, where Derek and family used to live. Again in the Saudi Beer and Camel gazette it was well received.
By the way. In the rap the matowa is the name for the religious police.

I was cruising the corniche the other day.
My baby beside me I started to say.
Get down girl it's time to hide.
Because I think I see Matowa on the other side.
So get real low and move it down.
I think I see a slip road time to turn around.

Turned my car around it was to no avail.
I looked in my mirror the man was on my tail.
Nowhere to run nowhere to hide.
He started moving past me and flagged me to the side.

Thought my time had come.
My tickets on its way.
I wound my window down.
When he began to say.

Put on your thobe
and move your feet.
Get on down and boogie
to the Jeddah beat.
Come on girls
let habiya rustle.
And bring it on in
do the Saudi shuffle.

Fly into Jeddah the place you ought to be.
If you want to wear a thobe and let it all hang free.
It doesn't really matter if it's hanging to your knee.
With a thong in your thobe aint no one going to see.
